Virginia has so many races to choose from! These are ten races that I have run and enjoyed personally. Whether you enjoy large city races or small trail races, Virginia has something for everyone!

Richmond Marathon

Richmond VA, 26.2 mile race
This is my favorite race in Virginia. This race has been named the friendliest marathon for good reason. The course volunteers and sideline supporters are so positive and create an amazing energy for the runners. It is a great way to explore the city side of Richmond on foot!
Ragnar Relay Race

Chesterfield, VA, Six-person relay race
If you are up for a challenge, this is an amazing race! You are on a team of six, and each team runs about 15 miles over 24 hours. The race is more like a festival with food and drink trucks, music, and activities for team members not currently on the trails.
Dam Yeti Ultra

Abington, VA, 25k or 50k race
This race is for sure a challenge, but one of the most magical and memorable running experiences you can have. See waterfalls, bridges, animals, and mountains as you explore the Virginia Creeper Trail on foot!
Holiday Lake 25k

Appomattox, VA, 10k, 25k or 50k race
This is a smaller trail race that happens in mid-February at Holiday Lake State Park. This race is a great way to enjoy the trails safely during the winter. This race offers runners the option to stay in cabins the night before the race and enjoy a dinner and Q and A with the race director.
Monument 10K

Richmond, VA, 10k race
This is my favorite race! A classic Richmond race that is fun for everyone. Whether you are a seasoned runner or you simply want to go for a walk and dress up with your friends, this race is for you. Enjoy the spirit of Richmond as you run 6.2 miles on Monument Ave.
